About Us

Mission Statement
It is the mission of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety to keep South Dakota a safe place to live, work, visit, and raise a family.

The role of the South Dakota Fire Marshal Office in this mission is to assist fire departments with training, investigation, public education, fire prevention, and code compliance.
