Driver License Office By City
Please note, we experience higher customer volume in the summer months so please be prepared for longer wait times. The best time to visit a Driver License Office is mid-month, mid-week, or mid-morning. The busiest times are before and after a holiday weekend, Tuesdays, and Friday afternoons. Renewals and Duplicates occur on the same days and times as Drive Test Exams.
IMPORTANT: Your driver license/ID card application must be submitted at least one hour before closing time.
REMINDER: Driver License Offices are short staffed from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and you may experience longer than usual wait times. No drive tests will be given between 11:30 and 1:30 or within 1 hour of closing.
Motorcycle exams can be completed during regular exam times, the roads must be dry to give a motorcycle drive test.
Payment accepted by cash, check or money order only, no credit or debit cards.

NOTICES
Sisseton Exam Station - will move to a Temporary new location, in the Sisseton Fire Hall 4 East Oak St., effective on Weds. Dec. 28th. They will remain at this location for six months or longer. The temporary move will allow the city to do necessary work on the building.
Vermillion Exam Station - Will be closed from 12-1 for lunch on the days they are opened.
