Drive Test Scheduler

Welcome to the Driver Licensing online appointment scheduler.

Online appointment scheduling lets you schedule a drive test appointment from the convenience of your computer, 24 hours a day, and 7 days a week!  Scheduling online also helps you avoid waiting on the phone when our phone lines are busy.  Please note that to schedule tests online, you must have a valid Non-Commercial Class 1 and/or Class 3 Instruction Permit. 

At this time, the online Drive Test Scheduler is available for Aberdeen, Brookings, Parker, Rapid City, Sioux Falls, and Watertown.  If you would like to schedule a drive test appointment by phone, please call our Customer Service Center at 1-800-952-3696. All other driver exam stations operate on a first-come, first-served basis.

• Please arrive fifteen minutes prior to your scheduled date and time of your drive test.  If you are more than five minutes late, you will be asked to reschedule for a later date and time.
• For a motorcycle drive test, please wear appropriate clothing, shoes, and helmet.  The pavement must be dry to conduct a motorcycle drive test.
• The Drive Test Examiner may cancel a road test when the weather conditions are considered unsafe at a particular road test site.
• Please bring in your federally compliant Driver’s Permit along with two proofs of your residential address, and your Driver’s Education Certificate, if applicable.
• Applicants under the age of 18 will need parental consent.
• If you have lost or do not have a federally compliant Driver’s License or ID card, please read about the documents needed to obtain a drivers license.
