The way we communicate is changing and the number of communication tools available to us, our partners and the communities we work with seems to grow on a daily basis. This training is an opportunities for participants that are looking for new and innovative strategies to connect with community partners and reach target populations. The training is designed for people with all ranges of social media experience, from "I don't know what a tweet is" to "I have thousands of friends on Facebook.
This training will provide participants with a basic understanding of social media including the definition, history and prevalence of social media; examples of social media in public health; how to effectively use social media in emergency services work; and policies and procedures suggestions for using social media. Participants should leave this session feeling prepared and encouraged to explore new social media opportunities in their work.Content for this event goes here.
