South Dakota 9-1-1 Surcharge Information

9-1-1 Surcharge fees on wireline, wireless, VoIP, and prepaid telephone services fund South Dakota’s 9-1-1 emergency response system, along with updates and upgrades to ensure the public always has access to immediate, reliable emergency contacts.

All businesses selling prepaid wireless services, telecommunications services, wireless services or Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services must register with the South Dakota Department of Revenue to report and pay 9-1-1 surcharges using SD EPath.
