Emergency Services
You can’t always predict when an emergency will happen. But you can plan and prepare for them. The South Dakota Department of Public Safety oversees emergency management, disaster recovery and assistance, in addition to other programs like state 9-1-1 and fire marshal services. We work to prepare our state for disasters and emergencies, then follow-up with assistance and recovery programs to help residents get back on their feet.
