County & TRIBAL Emergency Managers
County Emergency Managers help plan for and coordinate emergency response efforts in each county around the state. These officials work with local organizations in their county to develop an emergency plan for disaster management in accordance with the state’s overall plans and program.
Tribal Emergency Managers coordinate efforts on South Dakota reservations, managing emergency preparation and mitigation planning.
Local organizations may also develop mutual aid arrangements in the event of an emergency or disaster. See more at South Dakota Codified Laws for Emergency Management.
