South Dakota Fire Reporting
By submitting fire reports and data about fire incidents, we can identify fire trends across the nation to help prevent fires in the future. Submission of fire reports is not only required by those departments applying for and receiving fire act grants, but it is also critical in providing this information to the US Fire Administration's national database.
Fire departments using paper reporting can file a fire report online. Following your log in, enter your FDID number (fire department identification number) as your password to begin. The reporting procedure is an easy, step-by-step process with helpful drop-down boxes to guide you in providing the proper information and navigate you through the report.
Fire departments currently using fire reporting software can and should continue to use it for submission of the reports, as this information is acceptable in its current form.
