Special ServiceS & Programs

In addition to law enforcement and safety, the South Dakota Highway Patrol offers special services and programs to assist citizens.

The Crash Assistance Program (CAP) helps provide information concerning crashes, along with support for fatal or serious crashes. Our Police Service Dogs (PSD) unit works alongside Highway Patrol troopers to assist with drug and explosive detection and missing persons. And our aircraft and emergency support programs assist communities and troopers with a variety of public safety issues.
