South dakota incident management assistance team
The South Dakota Incident Management Assistance Team's (SDIMAT) mission is to provide trained personnel to support and augment local emergency management capabilites in order to protect people and property during an incident or planned event. SDIMAT is a Type III All-Hazards Incident Management Assistance Team.
The SD Incident Management Assitance Team provides assistance to County and Municipal jurisdictions in managing the response to an incident or planned event. The Team utilizes the Incident Command System to organize and coordinate the jurisdictional response. The Team does not take over an incident, rather works with the jurisdictional leaders and emergency workers by supporting and assisting them through the many tasks that need to be accomplished in the aftermath of an incident or those leading up to an event.
A request for SDIMAT should be made in coordination with your County Emergency Manager. Please contact (605) 773-3231 for more information.
