SD LETS is responsible for the exchange of law enforcement, criminal justice and public safety related information throughout the state and provides users the outlet to obtain nationwide information through NLETS and NCIC. A reliable system that provides the efficient exchange of accurate information is a key tool for keeping both law enforcement and citizens safe.
South Dakota Office of Highway Safety
The South Dakota Office of Highway Safety educates and supports communities on drunk driving, distracted driving, motorcycle safety, seat belt use and more to reduce injuries and fatalities from traffic crashes.
South Dakota Office of Emergency Management
The South Dakota Office of Emergency Management coordinates disaster preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation for natural, man-made or technological emergencies.
South Dakota State 9-1-1
South Dakota 9-1-1 coordinates with public safety answering points (PSAPs) across the state to implement and maintain our 9-1-1 emergency response system, keeping South Dakotans safe.
South Dakota State Fire Marshal
The South Dakota State Fire Marshal assists fire departments across the state with training, fire reporting, fire investigation and more. We also work with design professionals to help ensure that all applicable codes and standards are followed throughout the design and construction process.

The Inspection program oversees field inspections for food, lodging, lottery, agriculture, schools and more. By upholding inspection standards, we ensure a safe and fair environment.

The South Dakota Weights and Measures program verifies that commercial weighing and measuring devices are true and accurate, as well as upholding labeling standards.
